The V-47 LE Microphone is a handbuilt tube microphone inspired by the legendary Neumann U47. 

The circuit is a single stage tube design using a selected 6072 tube and custom T/14 transformer. All the components are selected for sound quality, notably including an exquisite copper-foil output capacitor.

The capsule is our acclaimed RK-47, a genuine 34mm single-backplate K47 type tuned for midrange detail and a neutral top end.

Like all of our custom microphones, the V-47 LE is built to order. Allow 3-5 business days for us to build it,  burn it in, and test it. If you are facing a session deadline, in advance to check the turnaround time.

Recommended Upgrade

No premium-grade tube mic should be stuck using a cheap XLR cable -- which can cause up to a half-volt in loss to the critical tube heater supply. We sell an upgrade based on , custom terminated in our shop with Neutrik connectors, then conditioned for 72 hours on a proprietary cable conditioning device.

Further Upgrades

The standard power supply included with the V-47 LE is similar to what you would find in any competing commercial mic under $2500. It is an Asian-built supply based on a vintage European design. It is functional, if somewhat pedestrian. 

We offer an optional upgrade called the VPS. It uses voltage regulation on both the heater and B+ circuits, preventing voltage drops and drift that could affect the sound of the mic. It offers superior DC noise filtering and slow ramp-up power to extend the life of the tube. on the VPS if you are purchasing it with your V-47 LE microphone.
